The Best way to warm up to Winter
Do you know the living ‘Nostradamus’ of Jersey’ - the all knowing prophet who can see things, way into the future? In his ruby feathered turban, this man works magic with his crystal ball and can predict what will improve your life, move your future, and pretty much rock your world.
His name?
We caught up with him way back in August, and begged him to share a shimmering glimpse into what we can look forward to these next few months. And do you know what he said?
With his majestic aura he gazed into his crystal ball.
Minutes passed in total silence. And then, slowly, he raised his glass of Gevrey-Chambertin 2017 and stared into it before whispering two words:
BURGUNDY WINTER.
( What????!)
Confused? So were we. And suddenly it dawned. Of course. He’s talking about Burgundy wines!!! The perfect wines to warm up to winter .
And wouldn’t you know, months later and this Nikolini guy was absolutely right! He knew. With the colder temperatures calling for warmer reds (and whites!), everyone seems to be warming up to our burgundies. Just in time for winter.
SUBTLE. RICH. ELEGANT. INTOXICATING.
These wines are certainly casting a spell.
Red Burgundies that cast a spell»
» BEAUNE DU CHATEAU PREMIER CRU Domaine Bouchard Pere & Fils 2016 (elegant)
» GEVREY CHAMBERTIN Armand Rousseau 2017 (intense!)
» VOSNE - ROMANÉE Domaine du clos frantin 2017 (velvety full)
Winter Whites that make your night. »
» CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 1er Cru les Grandes Ruchottes Pierre Brisset 2017 (endowed superlative)
» POUILLY FUISSÉ “les Combettes” Chateau Fuissé 2015 (richly fruity!)
» CORTON BLANC GRAND CRU Clos des Fiètres, Domaine Vincent Bouzereau 2018 (youthful elegant)
So this is definitely looking like a burgundy winter after all,
just as the all knowing Nikolini predicted.
But you don‘t need a crystal ball for that.
Winter is always better with burgundy.
